The UK government have announced they will remove the taxation on Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil (HVO) imports from the US and Canada into the UK, previously imposed by the EU.

This is an essential step forward in making the widespread use of HVO a realistic viability and increasing the availability of HVO in the UK at a time we need to start decarbonising our heating stock to achieve a Net Zero global economy.HVO is a renewable replacement with strong sustainability credentials, reducing greenhouse gas emissions by up to 90%. It is 100% biodegradable that meets EN15940 standard for paraffinic fuels.
