Improved Fuel Performance

Improved Fuel Performance

Higher cetane number, which helps reduce ignition delay in diesel engines. This improves the efficiency which in turn helps to lower emissions.

Longer Storage Life

Longer Storage Life

Premium Gas Oil includes a special deposit control additive which helps reduce the formation of sludge & residue.

Reduced Carbon Emissions

Reduced Carbon Emissions

Our Premium Gas Oil creates less carbon emissions compared against it's standard counterpart.

Upgrade to Premium Gas Oil

Our Premium Gas Oil (Red Diesel) has been treated with additional fuel additives that help to improve your fuels efficiency when compared with our Standard Gas Oil. The Premium Oils active ingredients help combat the build up of sludge and particulates that can effect performance. These active ingredients also improve your fuels lifespan and storage ability, to help ensure that your fuel is stored for longer periods of time during the winter months.

Our Premium Gas Oil Fuel is the best option for the long-term planning of your farm and business.

Benefits of Upgrading to Premium Gas OilWhy Should You Upgrade

Due to changes in the governments environmental
standards, the RTFO (Renewable Transport Fuel Obligation sets new biofuel targets each year. These targets relate to the quantity of FAME (Fatty Acid Methyl Ester) in fuel. FAME is added to replace the sulphur in diesel with a environmentally friendly product, such as cooking oil.

With standard Gas Oil, these changes may cause some customers to experience build up of sludge or particulates in their machinery or tank.

Premium Gas Oil comes treated with additives that will help combat the cause of these problems before they become an issue.

Benefits of Upgrading to Premium Gas OilImproved Fuel Performance

Premium gas oil provides an increased Cetane number compared to normal gas oil. The benefits from an increased Cetane number are:

  • Ensures fuel meets the equivalent EN590 standard mandated by OEM’s.
  • Easier engine starting
  • Increased pulling power
  • Smoother power delivery
  • Reduced smoke emissions
  • Cleaner burning thanks to improved combustion efficiency
  • Aligns with modern engine calibrations
  • Reduces the load on a Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF)
Benefits of Upgrading to Premium Gas OilIncreased Fuel Lubricity

As the sulphur content of fuel has been reduced, this has had a negative effect on the fuels lubricity properties. Premium gas oil is formulated to compensate for this sulphur reduction. The benefits of this are:

  • Compensates for the sulphur reduction in standard fuel.
  • Reduces friction within the engine.
  • Protects against excessive or premature wear of fuel pumps and fuel injectors.
Benefits of Upgrading to Premium Gas OilIncreased Resistance to Fuel Bugs

Fuel tanks are a potential breeding ground for a wide range of micro-organisms, also know as ‘diesel bugs’. The risk of diesel bugs has increased significantly since biodiesel has been introduced, which if left untreated can quickly multiply to create a sludge in the fuel which leads to filters becoming blocked and engines stopping. Premium gas oil includes a biocide additive which increases the fuels resistance to diesel bugs and microbial contamination.

Benefits of Upgrading to Premium Gas OilReduced Build Up of Sludge

Premium gas oil includes a special deposit control additive which helps keep to:

  • Keep injectors clean in high pressure common rail engines.
  • Prevents injectors sticking and over fuelling.
  • Maintains injector spray pattern.
  • Prevents nozzle coking in older engines.
  • Reduces fuel consumption and emissions.
  • Protects against corrosion.
  • Disperses hard and soft particles, including biodiesel precipitates.
Benefits of Upgrading to Premium Gas OilEnhanced Water Resistance

All fuel now contains up to 7% biodiesel which enhances the risk of water emulsifying with the fuel that can lead to filter blockages.

Benefits of Upgrading to Premium Gas OilA Longer Storage Life

Fuel can deteriorate when left in storage tanks where it can quickly oxidise with the potential to form deposits in tanks and delivery systems. The introduction of biodiesel makes this more likely to happen, in addition to the increased risk of diesel bugs. Generally the shelf life of gas oil is between 6 to 9 months, but Premium gas oil inhibits the oxidisation tendency and allows for safe, longer term storage for up to 12 months.

Choosing the right fuel for your farm or business.Who can use Gas Oil?
  • Machinery and vehicles used for agriculture, horticulture, fish farming, forestry, and arboriculture.
  • Agricultural vehicles and machinery used for cutting hedges and verges, to clear snow, and to grit roads
  • The maintenance of community amateur sports clubs and golf courses (including ground maintenance, heating and lighting of clubhouses, changing rooms, etc.
  • Heat and electricity generated in non-commercial premises – this includes heating homes and buildings such as hospitals, churches and other places of worship, town halls; off-grid power generation; and non-propulsion uses on houseboats that are permanently moored.
  • A rail vehicle is designed to run on rail tracks to propel passengers, freight, or maintenance vehicles.
  • Powering the machinery (including caravans) of circuses and travelling fairs.
  • It is used to refuel and operate all marine craft in the UK (including fishing, lifeboats, and water freight). In Northern Ireland, it is used to propel private pleasure craft.
