DESCRIPTION
Anti Wax is formulated to improve the cold flow and handling properties of diesel and gas oil.
APPLICATION
Anti Wax is typically added at the rate of 1 litre of additive to 1,000 litres of fuel. The additive must be used as a preventative measure and will not work if the fuel is already waxed. Fuel-specific tests need to be carried out if a minimum operability temperature is required.
FEATURES
WHEN TO USE
APPLICATION
1 litre of additive treats 1,000 litres of fuel.
A GUIDE TO USING ANTI-WAX ADDITIVE
Anti-Wax works by changing the shape of wax crystals in fuel, making them smaller, the Anti-Wax additive co-crystallises with the fuel wax crystals as they form when the fuel cools down and therefore must be added before wax crystals appear at around 10°C above the cloud point of the fuel.
Anti-Wax must be added to fuel when it is at a temperature above its cloud point, that is to say before any wax starts to precipitate out of the fuel. The cloud point of summer gas oil and summer diesel is around +3°C and the cloud point of winter gas oil and winter diesel is -5°C.
Anti-Wax is formulated by FAST in a solvent system to promote good mixing with diesel and gas oil. The fuel to be treated should be clear and bright with no visible signs of waxing having begun, check a sample from the tank bottom, as often wax will sink to the bottom of a storage tank. The fuel temperature should be above 6°C in winter and above 10°C in summer. For best results add the Anti-Wax into the vessel at the correct dosage, 1L treats 1,000L fuel, then add the fuel to be treated on top. The velocity of the fuel addition will give the fuel and Anti-Wax a thorough mix.
If additive is being added to a full tank of fuel, then the fuel and additive mixture should be recirculated using a pump.
